Bangalore launch their latest IPL challenge Updated - 11/3/2010 - cricketnext.in.com.
When the team was first picked, everyone thought that the Royal Challengers Bangalore was a ’Test’ team that would never be a serious challenge for the IPL title. The team is owned by Vijay Mallya. Mallya’s cricketing adventure was termed as a bad investment. After a pathetic first season, a tremendous turnaround was achieved, but nobody could have predicted that it would be such a revival. Luck and fortune was in the favour of Royal Challengers in the second season where they finished runners-up to Deccan Chargers. Rahul Dravid was replaced as captain by England star Kevin Pietersen, before he had to rejoin his national team. Then Anil Kumble took over, and the veteran ensured that just as he had taken the Indian team to success, he took Bangalore forward in the IPL as well.
