Abbott says elections a warning for Rudd Updated - 21/3/2010 - abcnews.
Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott says the South Australian and Tasmanian election results should send a warning to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. "People like Mr Rudd who are always talking about problems but never actually solving them are starting to wear pretty thin with the Australian people," he said. Mr Abbott says the Liberals never expected to win in South Australia, but are very pleased with the results there and in Tasmania. There has been a big swing against both sitting Labor governments, but no final result in either state. South Australian Premier Mike Rann looks likely to hang on to power, with 25 seats in the 47-seat House of Assembly. But the Liberals say they should be given the opportunity to form a minority government in Tasmania, where they appear to have won 10 seats. The incumbent Labor also looks to have won 10 seats, with the Greens picking up five.
