Discrepancy in WB funding Updated - 15/3/2010 - DailyMirror.
The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) alleges that there is discrepancy in the funds allocation by the World Bank (WB) to Sri Lanka. SLMC Member, Hassen Ali told Daily Mirror online that his party had received several complaints from the public regarding discrepancies in the distribution of housing loans by the World Bank through the local authorities, and stated that opposition supporters were left out from the funding process "Those who are not supporting the government are not receiving the monies. These monies belong to the World Bank and are distributed by the local authorities to the people to build houses. This is simply a plan by the government to buy votes before the general election," Hassen Ali said.
