Kapil Dev inducted into Hall of Fame Updated - 10/3/2010 - hindu.com.
Kapil Dev on Tuesday was inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Dubai. According to an ICC communication, a commemorative cap was presented to Kapil by the ICC President, David Morgan, in the presence of fellow Hall of Fame member, former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd. The Hall of Fame, run in association with the Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA), recognises some of the legends of the game from its long and illustrious history. Kapil, who led India to victory in the 1983 World Cup, played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs in a career that spanned 16 years, taking a remarkable 434 Test wickets and 253 ODI wickets. On his induction into the Hall of Fame, Kapil said: “I am proud and happy to have been inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame and it’s amazing to think that I have been picked as one of the greats of Indian cricket.
